DIY wooden science experiment model – educational STEM kit “Newton’s Pendulum”. The model demonstrates two fundamental laws of physics: the law of conservation of energy and the law of conservation of momentum. When one ball is pulled back and released, the impact force is transferred through the other balls until the last one swings upward. This construction kit is suitable for children and students who want to explore the basics of physics. Features: This is a construction kit, toy, and educational tool in one. Children assemble the model, test it immediately, and clearly see the cause-and-effect relationship: the higher the ball is lifted (more energy), the higher the last ball swings back. The toy engages children in an active learning process. During assembly, children develop fine motor skills and engineering abilities: all parts must be assembled accurately so the balls hang in one straight line. During experiments, children reinforce scientific concepts. Terms such as “friction” or “energy loss” become clearer when they observe that after some time the balls stop due to air resistance and friction between parts. Play encourages critical thinking: by experimenting (for example, releasing two balls at once), children can observe that two balls swing out on the opposite side as well. This encourages them to ask “why?” and look for answers. The parts are cut from light-colored wood and must be assembled into a frame to hang the balls. The wooden parts are smooth and durable, and they can be varnished or painted in your child’s favorite colors. The stable construction is suitable for educational activities. Easy assembly: simple and clear instructions allow children to assemble the toy with minimal adult supervision, making the kit suitable for independent work or activities together with parents. STEM (Science + Technology + Engineering + Mathematics) is an educational approach that integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into a unified learning model to prepare the younger generation for the rapidly developing world of technology. This is an excellent gift choice, as well as a useful kit for schools and educational institutions where simple, reliable, and clearly functioning teaching models are needed. Working principle: This is a tabletop demonstration installation in which 5 equal-mass spheres are held in place by slings, in close alignment with each other. When one ball is pulled back and released, the impact force is transferred through the other balls until the last one swings upward. Law of conservation of energy: Energy does not disappear; it is only transferred from one ball to another. The lifted ball has potential energy, which turns into kinetic (motion) energy when released. Law of conservation of momentum: When the first ball strikes the row, its momentum “travels” through the middle balls (which appear motionless) and is transferred to the last ball, causing it to swing outward. Educational value: demonstrates the law of conservation of energy and the law of conservation of momentum. Purpose: learning at home, in the classroom, and for project-based activities.
